NETWORKING/COMPUTER SPECIALIST
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study from an accredited college; or equivalent job related experience; five years job related experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting networks/servers is required; relevant Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished inwritten, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concretevariables in standardized situations.

A network administrator is responsible for configuring, managing, administering, and supporting and monitoring all aspects of the district's network (LAN and WAN) and server environments.
Must be able to perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance and security meets district and user demands.
Essential Functions:
Provides technology services, including repairs and replacement to all hardware in all Elizabethton City Schools including central office Complete and update work orders assigned by the technology director in a timely manner Supports Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) Configure, manage, administer, and support Avigilon security and access control services Configure, manage, administer, and support Mitel VOIP systems Demonstrates ability to Configure, manage, administer, and support Windows Server 2019 and 2016 servers Configure, manage, administer, and support VMware vSphere 7 Configure, manage, administer, and support Microsoft Active Directory Configure, manage, administer, and support DHCP and DNS services Configure, manage, administer, and support network VLANs Able to capture network traffic, analyze data and identify any issues in relation to network traffic Troubleshoots to diagnose and solve desktop computer equipment problems and connectivity issues Configure, manage, administer, and support Microsoft Office 365 Configure, manage, administer, and support Google Classroom Management Suite Manage district computer environment and software distributions with Group Policy Configure, manage, administer, and support all district networks Install and integrate new server hardware, operating systems, network applications, and anti-virus solutions Monitor network server performance, availability, resource utilization, and capacity planning Ability to design, install and configure resilient networking services using clustering and other forms of redundancy Must possess an in-depth understanding of vulnerabilities management systems and common security applications Manage student testing software, servers, and configuration Develop and maintain computer imaging and update servers Configure, Deploy, and Administer new and emerging technologies Maintain optimal network performance and security, protecting the network by actively managing routers, switches, firewalls, and content filtering on the physical and wireless networks Maintain all district wiring closets, including labeling, cable management, switch deployment, and virtualization Manage essential functions in the support of the district wired and wireless infrastructure Assist with installation and maintenance of district workstations, printers, and peripherals - including their related software Configure and maintain network backups Maintain network server, operating system, surveillance system, and all other pertinent documentation OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Maintain personal and professional technology skills and knowledge base, keeping current with industry trends Provide training to end-users as needed Promote a positive and professional image of the district at all times Participate in meetings as required, offering insight and direction regarding the use of technology as it relates to the district's technology plan Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with other members of the district's technical team Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS This job may require frequent lifting and/or moving of objects up to 50 lbs.
